Bad display on 1280x1024 (GNU/Linux)

Hi.

I run Steam on Debian Jessie x64. AMD Phenom x4 Processor, Nvidia gtx 275 with latest drivers on debian repositories, 4Gb RAM, sound integrated on motherboard.....

I downloaded and started the game nicely. When I changed the screen resolution to 1280x1080 and restarted the game, i can't play because i can't see any menu,
