Mortar and gun operators are very difficult to kill with small arms fire
This is something we should put an end to this release. It's very immersion breaking to empty a whole clip into players operating these weapons only to have them be completely oblivious to it.
@Matt_UK mentioned a solution involving manual hit point placement; I am not opposed to this one iota!

Actually, even without any changes, I find it possible to shoot mortar operators all the time, at least using the LeaveBody() debug tool on a server. The hit detection is slightly off, which I suspect is just positioning differences between server & client, due to client playing animations to move player into a pose, but not the server.
But this was clearly a big problem in the past. Logically, I see no reason why mortar operator hit detection should be blocked, as mortars have a nil sized collision cylinder (unlike the M3 HT MG for example). Wonder if some earlier change, e.g. my DHBullet mods, have overcome another issue.
Do others also find it possible to shoot mortar ops now, in genuine MP?

reporter It seems that if you shoot the guy from certain angles, it won't work. This is especially true in 5.1; I've been trained by the game to not even bother shooting at the mortars because there's only about a 10% chance of killing the guy.
