Error running commands with drush 8.1-dev

When running any patchfile commands in Drupal 8 with drush 8.1-dev, I (and other co-workers) receive the following error:

Error: Cannot access protected property Drupal\Core\Extension\Extension::$filename in
/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/mysitename/docroot/sites/all/drush/drush-patchfile/patchfile.drush.inc, line 402

Just to chime in that this also affects drush-patchfile in drush 9.0-dev, and that Stephan Zeidler's fix above is still correct.
