Welcome
Glycan Builder is a software tool that allows users to draw glycan structures and calculate their m/z value. The tool is available in three formats: HTML 5, Java Swing Applet, Java Standalone tool. Glycan Builder is also integrated into its sister tool GlycoWorkbench. The Swing based implementations of Glycan Builder were originally developed as part of the EUROCarbDB project. This web-site is concerned with the newer HTML 5 based implementation, for the Swing implementations, please see Google Code.

Installing
You will need Java >= 1.7 to run the web-based version of Glycan Builder
Windows
Installer
Download and run the Windows installer which will install Glycan Builder into your AppData directory and place a Short Cut on your desktop
Archive
Download and unpack the GlycanBuilder package - launch with run.bat
Unix
Linux and Mac OS/X users first need to download Apache Tomcat and the download the GlycanBuilder war file to the webapps directory of the Tomcat installation.
Glycan Builder will be accessible at the following URL http:localhost:8080/GlycanBuilder
