First time user, serious issues

Issue #106 open
Former user created an issue

I am trying to get your tool to display anything at all, and I'm failing miserably.

Bug: When i save my chart set up it displays nothing, and I am unable to edit it. See Screenshots 1-3 attached. I click on the 3 dots in the upper right, select "Edit", and the gadget goes blank entirely. I have to delete the gadget and start over every single time.

My issue: I have tried many many times to get this tool to display a chart. My end goal is to get a chart like the attached file "issue status", which shows you the graph as well as the data that I'm using to generate the graph. Basically, it's the sum of Story Points by Issue Status by Day in the Active Sprint for a specific project. Is this possible to do in your tool?

My project is a New Gen project, if that matters to your tool.

The parameters I have set: I give the chart a title and leave the remaining fields on the Chart Options tab blank On Chart Dates, I set the Period to Daily, Dates to Active Sprint, and I select my project's board For Data Sets, I add a set for each status. I set the name, choose Type of "area", Time Series Field of "None", the Y-Axis is 'Story Points". I use the JQL Editor to help test the JQL and get rows returned, and I then submit the JQL and it is displayed in the JQL box. An example of the JQL is: project = HAP AND status = To Do

Since I’ve submitted this ticket I’ve had major progress. First, i found that looking at your documentation in Source here is much better than using the links from the app to your wiki. Second, if I refresh the page on the dashboard that displays the empty gadget, i am then allowed to edit it. Third, the link in your documentation to using the past tense of JQL goes to a 404. BUT, searching a JQL issue with it brought me here where I can see questions from the other uses and helped get me to a point where I now have a graph, but all the totals are zero across my time period.

I am wondering if I’m retrieving 0’s instead of the sum of Story Points is due to the Time Series Field = None. In my mind, the time series is the active sprint that i specified in the other criteria, with Daily time periods. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

@Joyce Kosak Thanks for letting me know about the broken link. I’ve updated it.
Can you paste the JQL query you’re using pls?

I am also getting a zero sum for story points in my next-gen project. The classic projects I’m tracking in the chart seem to work fine, but the next-gen project I have gives me empty axes. My query is very similar to Joyce’s.
