Rennet is an extension for Mercurial <http://mercurial.selenic.com/>; that makes it possible to create a remote repository and clone it locally in one step.

To install Rennet:

  1. Install Rennet somewhere in your Python module search path. Use easy_install, pip, or setup.py or another way that makes you happy.
  2. In the [extensions] section of your .hgrc file (typically, found in your home directory), add this line: rennet=.

To learn how to use Rennet, enter hg help rennet.

Rennet was created to make it quick and easy to create a repository and clone it. Originally the extension and command was called rinit, which, over time, began to sound like rennet, a key component in the manufacture of cheese. Yummy.
