Changing orientation switches article from Web view to Text

When viewing an article, after rotating the device the article always appears in "Text" mode. This happens regardless of whether I've selected "Load links in web mode" in the settings. The preferred behavior would be for the rotated view to have the same setting as the original. In other words, if I'm viewing in "Web" mode in portrait, landscape should also be in "Web" mode, ideally scrolled to the same position.
