Way to set preference for ffmpeg over avconv?

I have latest avconv and ffmpeg, webdl tried to use avconv to remux .ts video downloaded from SBS but fails with "non-monotonous DTS in output stream" error. Manually remuxing to .mp4 using lastest ffmpeg works, however. Is there a way to get webdl to prefer ffmpeg for this even if avconv is present? I understand if this is an edge case and too hard to fix, but it would be great if there was a way I could do this without uninstalling libav or making local changes to webdl that would be overwritten with future updates.
