New tool: Measurement tape

While composing a pattern I'd often like to know how long a certain distance between two points is and often this is not a given line, but a certain distance between two totally indepependent points...

I think it would be really helpful to have a tool (exactly like the measurement tape tool in Inkscape) in Draw AND Detail view, with which we can measure any given distance between two points.

With the same approach, can we have the angle between any two points? And the angle of vector between any three points?

Susan, we can calculate and show a value, but not to use this data in a formula.
