New Idea

Issue #11 closed

Hello Martin:

There are two issues. Which if solved can improve even more e-task:

  1. The first one is really simple and I saw the code and I think that if I modify it I can adapt it to my needs. I want to show the content of the course first and then the e-task progress block. Attached image. It would be great to include it as a user preference.

  2. Some of the course formats implement tabs to navigate between course elements. Currently e-tasks implements the view of a section and you can navigate with a menu to jump to another section. An alternative would be to implement tabs instead of the jump menu.

Another that can be more complex but more complete is that you can have the possibility of combining course formats (in preference define a secundary course format). For example, e-taks can be supplemented with https://moodle.org/plugins/format_buttons. Since they focus on different things etaks gives an overview of what happens in the course and how much progress has been made. Form Buttons only focuses on how to navigate the content of a course.

Thanks again for your amazing work

Good mornint and thanks for sharing your idea. Point one: I will try to include this change into changes before moodle 3.6 release. Point two: it is not technically so easy and maybe it is even impossible without creating eTask version for each of the most popular course formats. Ideal way is create "block activity module" placed before or after the course format as a block module, but now it is possible to create block activity only on the /left right side and it is too small space for this module. So I cennot help you now with this. I will try to look solution, but it will be long way.

Placement of eTask above or below the course format sections is available now in all the new versions of the plugin. See Moodle plugins directory.
