It would be great to have the possibility to clone http git repositories, for instance:
hg clone http://www.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux-2.6.git
I wonder if there's any advance on this. Is it hg-git that should address this or is dulwich?
Martin, did you come across this or else what did you mean?
Ok, sorry for it. I've just seen the bump button :)
FYI, here is the bug (in dulwich) for implementing this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dulwich/+bug/373688
(once this is supported in dulwich, it should be trivial to add support for it in hg-git)
This has now landed in Dulwich trunk. Feedback welcome.
You can find a really simple and braindead patch that adds support for http and https repositories to hg-git here: http://samba.org/~jelmer/hg-git-http-support.diff
You'll need dulwich trunk, too (git:git.samba.org/jelmer/dulwich.git)
It works for me, YMMV. Hopefully somebody with more experience of the hg-git codebase can take it from here.
Jelmer Vernooij this patch requires the probably-soon-to-be-released Dulwich 0.8.1 correct?
Hi, the Dulwich was released. It would be great, if someone applies the patch above.
Motivation for the fix: you can't use a bitbucket https-Git-Repo with hg-git without this fix. You can use ssh, but it's very tedious configuring ssh on every computer.
Also note that there is a fix necessary in bitbucket before this works (or an override of your user agent). See https://bitbucket.org/site/master/issue/6666/
