svn branch and temporarily removed file

Issue #258 new

I have an issue with a large private SVN repository where for some reason: * in one branch a file existed * it was then deleted * and an updated copy was copied back in from another branch

When trying to clone the svn repo I get: "abort: cannot apply textdelta to branches/branchX/FileY: file not found"

Yes - the svn repo isn't very pretty. I think it is just reality popping up...

If it helps, r159066 in the GCC SVN repo[1] exhibits this problem:

    [r159066] kwilliam: st/cli-fe merged r138079 through r157989 from trunk
abort: cannot apply textdelta to branches/st/cli-fe/libjava/classpath/gnu/java/awt/peer/x/XFontPeer.java: file not found

    svn log says:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    r159066 | kwilliam | 2010-05-05 07:44:44 -0500 (Wed, 05 May 2010) | 2 lines

    st/cli-fe merged r138079 through r157989 from trunk

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm attaching a file with the output of svn log -v.

I'd be interested in a reduced test case, but honestly the example of the gcc repo isn't very helpful as their history is enormous.

This relatively smaller svn has the same problem at r3015, if it could help the debugging of the issue: https://wala.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/wala/

Error message: [r3015] sjfink: reflection support for java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass abort: cannot apply textdelta to trunk/com.ibm.wala.core/src/com/ibm/wala/analysis/reflection/ClassFactoryContextInterpreter.java: file not found

BTW, this project, WALA, is about a program analysis tool for statically analyzing Java/Javascript programs.
