Decreasing delay between locations decreases also actual speed

When using routes, decreasing delay between locations (e.g. to 100 ms) decreases also actual speed (even if shown speed, e.g. 50 km/h remains the same). I think this is not planned feature.
This occurs at least in device “Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite”, Android 11.

This is a strange behavior. Is the speed just slightly or drastically decreased ? It may be due to some round numbers
