Format doesn't honor "Show Activity Dates" setting

We've been testing Moodle version 3.11.6 and may have found a bug, not sure if this might be fixed in the forthcoming release of Tiles. This has to do with the new activity dates feature introduced in 3.11.
The Tiles format does not seem to honor the “show activity dates“ setting in the course settings, and in a seemingly random fashion.
In one course, the "Show Activity Dates" menu is set to Off in the course settings, and yet I am still seeing the dates showing in the course. They stay visible even if I turn them on and off, clear cache, login w/student accounts, different browser, etc.
In another course, the "Show Activity Dates" menu is set to On in the course settings, and yet they are not visible in the course (same deal w/clearing cache etc) .

I can confirm replicating this issue - I came to create this same bug but found it was already made!
