Stuck in installation process

Issue #116 new
Thorsten created an issue

My environment is somehow stuck in the installation process. The installation starts correctly after I have uploaded it to the server. I can configure the settings. After saving the setting I always gets redirected to the next page. That page does not show any plugin settings?

After I clicked “save changes” I am stuck in a loop for that page. Starting a new moodle session works, but when I open the administration > notifications, I gets redirected to the shown page again.

I am using 3.9 latest.

Best, Thorsten

Hi sorry for the slow response but if you still have this issue I would try purging caches, checking server error logs or turning on debugging messages via Admin > Development, and checking file and directory permissions as sometimes these change on upgrade

Hi, thank you for your input. We already tried purging cache, debug of the server logs or looking into debug messages. Unfortunately, we haven’t found any problem in our environment. I assume there must be any type of inconsistence to another plugin. Are there any known issue in combination to other plugins.

    Best regards, Thorsten

Thanks both. I will take a look, but in the meantime if you can provide any of this information it would help me to replicate:

    Many thanks

    Hi David,

    Thanks for investigating!

    Version: $plugin->release = "3.11.1.3";
    Database: mariadb 10.5.15
    PHP: 7.4.30
it is a fresh installation. We never had the Tiles format installed before.

    Best regards

    Thorsten

Thorsten are you able to navigate to {wwwroot}/admin/settings.php?section=formatsettingtiles and save the settings from there?

    Which theme are you using?

  6. Thorsten reporter

Yes, I can navigate to that URL. I can modify the settings there. But when I open administration > notifications again, I will be redirected to the page I showed above. Well, I can use the course format can be used in courses now but I fear I have other sideeffects that are caused in the behavior.

Thanks did you save the Tiles settings when on that page? If not, please do that as it may stop the redirect. And which theme are you using?

We are using Edwiser Remui. The error occurs too when using a different theme.

Well, it doesn’t make any change if I am going to save the settings during installation or later in the plugin settings. I will always be redirected to the shown page when opening administration > notifications.
