Sound attenuation appears to wrap the volume of a distant sound to maximum instead of zero

The sound attenuation in ECWolf appears to be unable to play a sound out of earshot of the player at zero volume, instead playing it at maximum. This makes things like Operation Serpent's enemy roaming sounds, when being emitted by actors far away from the player, sound like they're coming from inside the player's head.
