The 3d sound causes issues with some things being innaudible.

Certain sounds are now way too quiet than intended.

The best example are the boss greetings when you first meet them - you can barely hear them in a lot of occasions if the boss is far away when they spot you.

It also doesn't help with hearing the opening and closing of doors around the level.

To repeatably test this out, in E3M9, open the door to Mecha Hitler and you will be barely able to hear him say "Die, Allied Shweinhund". (i'd attach a save file but i don't know which save is which and they don't appear to have plaintext filenames even inside the files as far as i can see). A lot of this is due to the fact that for some reason his chainguns are still really loud when he is far away, but his voice isn't, so when he starts shooting, the rest of the phrase gets drowned out.

This doesn't happen in wolf4sdl - i'm not sure the difference in audio changes you've made? (And obviously doesn't happen in the original game - although the 3d effect is worse, sounds are always more audible and you don't get into positions where you cannot hear enemy death cries / boss cries etc).
