Wrong speed reported when above 50 km/h

Issue #100 invalid
Jean-Francois Guay created an issue

Hello,

I have noted that when I got above 50 km/h with my bafang bbshd 26” wheel bike , the speed no longer reports properly and randomly switches from 10-50, resuming proper speed reporting only when my actual speed decreases below 50 km/h.

Hi Jean, I didn't hear from this issue from other users and never experienced it myself. Do you think it could be an issue on your motor or maybe the speed sensor not being installed correctly? If this is not solved, please let us know and we can investigate further.

I have the same problem with my BBS1. But I'm afraid that it is the Bafang controller, because I was able to determine the behavior with the original display. I was hoping that the Egg Rider wouldn't do it again.

Definitely experiencing wrong speeds on the display and max speed which maxes consistently at 32.8mph on the ride summary. I use MPH. It reads fine through the 20s. Then sometimes show 30mph+ numbers accurately, sometimes it appears to be 3x - 20mph so reads in the teens. 40mph+ definitely reads 4x - 20 mph so in the twenties when I’m in the 40s. I am riding a recumbent trike with the speed sensor on my 20” rear wheel (set to 1555mm) circumference.
