Radrunner UK/EU - No correct tyre size for Radrunner - Eggrider V2

Issue #164 invalid
M created an issue

Lishui settings have a 20” wheel, but then speed is incorrect (too slow) - on the 22 the speed is almost accurate, but not quite.

In display settings there are only 17” and 19” wheel settings - both too slow. Radrunner 20x3.3 tyre (stock Kenda K-Rad) circumference is 1820mm.

These settings also impact overall 25km speed cutoff issue (you can trick the wheel size, but cutoff remains in place).

    Hi Marc,

On the Lishui page, unfortunately, it is not much we can do about… those are the settings provided by the controller, so you have to select the option that best matches your bike tyres. Indeed this setting is used for the cutoff.

For displaying the speed correctly please just use the wheel circumference on the display settings page to insert your 1820mm value. Feel free to adjust if it still doesn’t feel. (we will add the 20x3.3 to the drop-down list in the app as well)

Thanks George - so does this mean there is no way to get round the max 25km cut-off please - if I understand correctly?

  3. George Banea

Did you set a higher speed limit or set the wheel size lower and that still cuts off at 25km/h?

Wheelsize DOES affect speed. Speed limit in Lishui or display has NO effect either on road or off-road modes. I will update to the correct firmware though and try again - will repost if resolved.

    Just to be clear.

Display settings page → Wheel circumference: affects only the displayed speed value(consider it as a factor to show the right speed)

Lishui settings page → Speed limit and Wheel size affect the speed limits (speed cut off)

Thanks George - yes I think I understand - but I will have to play with the km/h and wheel size settings and adjust. For example, use the 22” or 28” wheel size but then adjust the upper limit of 25km DOWN so it cuts off at the correct speed. I will try this tonight.

In any case if the unit is designed for a RadRunner surely adding a setting for the correct size in inches (for the runner it’s probably around 21”?) would be easy?

OK so did a little more paying around tonight - nothing makes sense!

    • I can get accurate 15.5mph speed with 22” setting - but this is the SAME on both road and off-road profiles.

    • I can get MORE speed by reducing the wheel size to 16” - but even if I reduced the max speed down to 10km - it does nothing (boosts to 22mph). Also, the off-road profile no longer has ANY power - APART from with the throttle.

    • Each PAS setting only boosts to a certain speed. For example PAS 4 goes to about 14mph - then goes to nothing, I then increase to PAS 5 and it then accelerates again. This is awful.

I am going through this with someone else tomorrow.

    Hi George,

I’ve been playing with this a little more - it seems the speed settings don’t really do anything on the two modes. The wheel size DOES change the speed (for the radrunner 22” seems to be accurate at 15.5mph) - but the speed on both profiles remains the same.

    Best,

    Marc
