"Switch failed" Error
Hi
I have just needed to replace my bbs02 controller.
Following the replacement I was recieving a “Switch failed” error on the display on bootup or pressing the mode button.
I updated the firmware to the current stable version (see attached image).
I also performed a factory reset (mode+power)
Following the factory reset the “Switch failed” message was gone, until I turned “Live data and settings” on for Bafang switch mode.
Do you have any advice on fixing this issue?
Cheers
David

Hi,
Yes, it seems like for some reason the new controller didn't accept the previous settings. The solution is as you find out, do again the procedure of the bafang settings by initializing and then adjusting the settings.
Thank you for your feedback regarding the app. I am surprised of how many issues you encounter. Do you mind getting in touch over email to help us understand where the problems might be?

I would delete this issue, but I can't seem to find a button giving me that option.
I realise now that I needed to initialize each of the settings pages and write them.
Before this thread is closed however, I would like to comment on the android app.
In my experiance, it is problematic:
Also, from a UX perspective, the combination of ride tracking and settings management causes a lot of frustration. Needing to exit the tracking screen every time I connect to the device is an additional frustration, especially if every few seconds I need to reconnect it. Also, if I press the back button too many times it exits the application rather than returning to the home screen.
Regardless, cheers for your work and the product, still the best controller available once it is setup!
