(BBSHD) Unable to limit amps between 1 and 4; can't use >50w,<200w PAS

Issue #223 resolved
Darragh Noonan created an issue

When setting PAS levels on my 52v BBSHD (HW1.5, FW1.0.04), I can not use a level below 12% of 28 amps, as it defaults to switching from 0 to 50w repeatedly, and giving me no assist. If I use above 12%, I can get the correct power, but I am unable to use below it, so I can’t have low PAS levels. Levels above 12% work fine, but nothing below it works.

Steps to Reproduce:

Set 52v 28A BBSHD PAS level % to under 12%

Motor Model: BBSHD 52v

Version: v2.6.03

    Hi Noonan,

Could you please share your settings?

Also from what I understand the problem is that your PAS is not working when you change the value in the Bafang Basic settings or Bafang pedal settings? Also, can you tell me what engine you have? how many W?

I have a 1000w BBSHD, the issue has slightly changed as the problem I mentioned in my first comment was from a month ago, I just hadn’t reported it yet. I tested again today and now I get 0-25w in PAS 1-4, 50-51w in PAS 5-8, and 100w in PAS 9 in road mode. Offroad works correctly with higher %s, but Road doesn’t work right with lower %s as shown in the images. This is a link to a video of the display saying 0-25w in PAS 3 https://streamable.com/b9m3as. Here are my settings.

    Hi,

Thank you for the information provided.

This is most likely to be an issue with the bafang controller itself and not with EggRider.

On some bafang controllers, the % might not be precisely the limitation you get. Moreover, with PAS the Bafang pedal parameters can affect the limit.
