No ID Restart

Issue #264 closed
Djeef Lab created an issue

One of my Eggrider displays (connected to a Bafang controller) will show “No ID Restart” on top of the regular displayed information. I usually can ride normally with the message but sometimes not. I can turn off and on but it will show up again. After a while, I need to shut down the battery as the display button will not shut down the display anymore.

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your message

Can you please send us a picture of your EggRider display screen while it is turned on?

Also, can you try to reset your EggRider display to the factory settings and check if the issue persists? You can do that by holding the M+POWER buttons while the EggRider is off. Also, please make sure that you back up your settings via screenshots because this will reset all of your settings.

We are looking forward to your message!

    hi Adrian,

Sorry it took a while to reply but I did not get the error in a couple of days thinking it was magically fixed!

This morning, when I started the bike, I got the error. Please find attached. FYI, I noticed this time the E03 error regardless if the brakes were applied or not. Sensors work correctly, normally.

I will experiment with the factory reset soon and report back.

    Best regards,

    JF

    Hi,

“No ID Restart” might happen if you have the app reconnecting in background or at startup.

To overcome this issue, you have to restart display and make sure to close the app from memory before stating a connection.

E03 indicates brakes ON is coming from the controller so is not something to do with controller.

    Hi George,

Thank you. I don’t use the app much anymore but I will be on the look out. FYI, the problem does not seem to arise anymore. Strange!

I guess you could close the ticket for now.

    Best regards,

    JF

This can happen if you have enabled in EggRider App -> App settings -> Startup Connection or Background re-connection. So if you encounter this issue please disable them. This issue should be fixed in v2.7
