Limited Current Amperage Setting Changing Without Warning

Issue #92 resolved
Clint Warner created an issue

BBSHD 52v.

Limited current (battery setting) is set to 30A on OFFROAD and 15A on ROAD setting on app.

Two problems keep occurring:

Problem#1 - It correctly reads both settings from controller. However, once you switch between modes or shut off the controller it inadvertently changes without my changing the setting. When this happens it only reaches 20A Max from throttle in OFFROAD, no issues with 15A ROAD setting.

Problem#2 - Sometimes I’d i reset the battery setting down to 20A then back to 30A. It will push out 30A on OFFROAD setting with throttle. however, when it does this, when you switch it to the ROAD setting, there is no apparent change in power output (it is still moving 30A through the motor) even though the display is showing 15A

Hi, sorry for my late reply.

Can you please post screenshots with your bafang pages.

There is a bug in some BBSHD motors where they don’t like changing the overal current.

You can instead leave the current for both Road/OffRoad and use the independent assist current percentage levels to achieve the same.

Thanks for the reply. Attached are my Bafang settings you requested.

I will change the independent current setting like you suggested to adjust road/off-road power output.

Some bafang controllers don't update the Limited current (battery setting) until power on/off is executed. To avoid this bug you can set the Limited current (battery setting) the same value for road/offroad and use instead the Assist limited current (%) to achieve the same result.
