Unusable Amp or Watt data display

Very happy with the device, but one thing should be fixed.

One the main screen, amp or watt values are refreshing too quickly (at least 10hz).

It makes it unusable to read any value, which is quite important to check any engine or battery exceedance.

Could you please display the average value every 1s for example please ?

This is a serious issue. Even the cheapest power meters use smoothing.

Is this the reason that my Ah and Wh are wrong (low) by 15% compared to an energy meter with an in-line shunt? I don’t need to see current or watts when riding but a real time Wh/km cumulative per ride is useful.

Unless current is measured accurately, these dependent secondary measures are useless and worse, misleading. 15% is a huge error. The Bafang display has the same stability issue but doesn’t use the data to calculate mAh and Wh. Please try to improve this.

The current is being read by the controller and fed to the display, so if the controller doesn’t have a good calibration the reading will be off. It’s not a fault of the display as it can only work with the data it has.

Yes, both power & efficiency need to be smoothed to be readable. A running average over one or two seconds would do. As another comment asked, please include the cumulative efficiency of the current ride so far.

with fw v2.5.23 we refresh every 0.5s

Amps, watts, and efficiency are still too twitchy, George, until one hour has passed, when sampling slows. Please, average the values over several seconds, running averages.
