Lunar I (J) freezes at splash screen

Lunar I (J) freezes after the sega logo, at the splash screen that reads:

"Welcome to the world of LUNAR, where man and stranger are living and serving the goddess of ALTHENA..."

This is with downloaded ISO+WAV image. I created a bin+cue image from an original copy of the game and experienced the same issue.

It does not freeze using last SVN version so I guess the issue was similar to other freezing games caused by invalid simulated CD TOC.
