Issue #269 duplicate

Original [issue 269](https://code.google.com/p/genplus-gx/issues/detail?id=269) created by supersonicjc@hotmail.com on 2012-08-05T22:52:33.000Z:

What steps will reproduce the problem? 1.Load Sonic 3 ( any version hack or not) 2.Play a level or chaos emerald stage

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? normal audio

What version of the emulator are you using (official, SVN revision,...)?current release 1.7.0

Please provide any additional information below (Emulator settings, Console setting,...) its really hard to explain and i tried different ways to see whats going on but while im in the chaos emerald stage there are audio hickups in the music tracks where it sounds like a channel is slowing down then picks up simmilar like old tvs and audio static. this is really hard to catch but i find its always when im in the emerald stage either with the U,E,J rom or locked on or even the popular hack of complete.

It's not very clear what you are hearing (hichup ? slowdown ? static ? that are 3 different things to me), can't you make a video or audio recording or at least give more details on how to reproduce it: Does it happen with previous version of the emulator ? What options (audio, video) are you using ? Have you tried changing options (VSYNC for example) to see if it changes anything ? Is it random or always happen at the same spot ? Only after a while ?

All these details would be more useful than reporting the same thing happen in all rom variants or hacks (off course it will, it's the same game) as I personally don't hear anything wrong in that game, in special stages or elsewhere.

I think it's the same issue that I see in Sonic 2. I just did some quick testing and it seems to happen randomly in all parts of the game, but it happens more frequently in the chaos emerald special stages. I didn't try every setting, but I know it happens with VSYNC set to auto. I have a set of cables that are red+white RCA on one side and 3,5mm stereo on the other, which could be used to record, but they're male on both sides so I can't use them with my Wii. But if superson can't record this somehow I'll see what I can do.

Are you sure this sound bug doesn't happen if you just leave the game running for the same amount of time it takes you to get into the Special Stage?

Just make recordings (video or audio, does not matter) of what you are hearing or think is a bug and upload it. Audio is crystal clear for me in all these games and probably is for most users as those arwn't exacly obscure games, no matter how long i leave them running. I have no idea about what you are talking about and certainly cannot "fix" something i cannot reproduce.

Your only option is to set vsync off and see if it fixes anything.
