Play actual Sega CD discs in Wii drive slot

Issue #298 invalid

Original issue 298 created by bdaiker on 2012-10-28T03:54:26.000Z:

When loading BIOS, BIOS detects when disc is present/not present in the Wii drive slot, but won't recognize or load actual Sega CD discs inserted in the drive. Any plans to implement actual CD drive functionality?

Thanks for all your hard work, this software is fantastic.

Unfortunately, the Wii optical drive can only read DVD, it is physically impossible to read Audio CD or CD-ROM.

For the record, BIOS does not detect the disc, the blue LED only blinks because the emulator is accessing the virtual (i.e emulated) Sega CD drive, it has nothing to do with what is inserted in the real Wii drive.

Ah, didn't know that. I noticed that when I loaded a BIOS plain with a Wii DVD in the drive it said "checking", but when I hit eject on the system the message changed to "please insert a disc." So I thought maybe the BIOS was at least detecting the state of the drive.

But yeah, I understand! Thanks for the reply and keep up the amazing work.
