Display only .cue files for Sega Mega CD
Original issue 314 created by olivier.herau on 2012-12-19T08:26:37.000Z:
The Mega CD support is a great feature and it is working very well with a set containing:
- 1 .cue
- 1 .iso file (first track of the ripped game CD)
- n .wav files (the rest of the tracks)
The problem is that genplus can handle .cue files (using .iso+.wav) as well as stand-alone .iso files (with music tracks). So when I click on the "Open Mega CD game", the .wav files are not displayed, but the two files left (.iso and .cue) are displayed for a single game.
When several games are installed it's just a mess, and for newbies it's hard to know you must launch .cue instead of the .iso .
A nice and simple feature would be to add an option to display only .cue files in the file manager when opening a Mega CD game.

Thx for the quick -but detailed- reply. This evolution was for confort only
so if you think it is useless I am ok with that.
About Sega CD support do you think MP3 will be handled will be implemented
some day, or is the GameCube/Wii hardware not powerfull enough to manage
real-time decoding ?By the way thanks a lot for the great work you have done so far.

Well, i don't want to do that for several reasons, first being that i think adding too much options actually confuse things instead. Then, cue file are not necessary with iso+wav files, providing wav files are named properly. As for directories being a mess, well, use subdirectories, that's what they are for.
Finally, about newbies, there is a readme explaining all these things.
