have manage to test a bit now as was away from home when registering problem.
ok both jap and uk pal version display copyright screen (yellow text).
screen stays blank but intro sound continues. controller unresponsive. leds visable.
sticks on black screen after that with no sound.setting pretty much default apart from progressive 60 hz. have tested on others but the outcome is the same.

Indeed, seems like any regions (USA, JAPAN & EUROPE) hangs when using model 2 BIOS
More exactly:
US version works fine with 1.00, 1.10 and also 2.11 BIOS but not 2.00
PAL & JAP version works fine with 1.00 BIOS but not 2.00
PAL & US versions also works fine with CDX/Multimega BIOS (2.21)
It's probably some timing issue which make the game work by chance with some of the BIOS and not with others because timings are a little different between them, so I guess I will have to fix that (again!)
This is really starting to be annoying to test, fix something and something else got broken :-/

sorry, first time and dont know what i should be telling you.
all my bios for pal, jap and us are version 2.00 but the us version seems to work.
maybe the us version crashes later in the game. will find different bios later and test.
i never thought it maybe the bios, but as i said, i'm new to registering issues.
it may be annoying but you have my biggest respect for knowing half this stuff. you make retro live on and nothing is cooler.

2.11 BIOS displays as 2.00 on boot screen,so that is probably why you think you are using 2.00 but i verified US version definitively locks at the same spot as PAL and JAP version with the older model 2 US BIOS.
anyway, I fixed it already, a new revision should be up soon
For the record (and for those who are interested), it was caused by the "fix" to get Lunar - The Silver Star works again, which involved reverting some stuff regarding SEEK command required by Final Fight CD. The solution appeared to work with model 1 BIOS timings but not model 2. Analysing why Lunar was not working anymore instead of blindly reverting things permitted to find a proper solution that works fine for both games under any configuration.

Component cable. I think jap version displays copyright before going blank. Might be pal version, I can't remember. Then freezes after intro sound. U.S. version fine
