wii pro controller crashes
Hi,
I am using version 1.7.4 downloaded from the homebrew channel on my wii, and when I have a pro controller connected, I get a number of issues. When highlighting an icon with the wiimote it flickers from one icon to the next very quickly, but the main problem is it will not load any games when the pro controller is connected to the wiimote. It crashes with "Exception (ISI) occured" error and it needs the power cable pulling before it can reboot.
The pro controller I am using is not an official one, its a chinese replica type from ebay. Does the emulator have issues with pro controllers as a whole or is it that it doesn't like this cheap version controller I have?

reporter Do you think it would work with a 3rd party gamecube controller with it not being as sophisticated and not needing to be wirelessly connected via the wiimote?

reporter Thanks for the reply. Do you think it would work with a 3rd party gamecube controller as it doesn't rely on connection to the wiimote so is less sophisticated internally?

repo owner Yes, I have one and it works without any issue.

Probably the latter but it's not really something I can do anything about as controller support entirely depends on the low-level library available for Wii homebrew (libogc & libwiiuse), not the emulator itself. Problem with third-party controllers or cheap clones is that they don't exactly use the same protocol as official ones so the low-level libraries either don't know what to do with them or, in worst case, just crash because of unexpected events.
I know it is supposed to work with official Pro Controllers as I got users reporting they work fine in the emulator but I never had one myself so could never tested it. You could try 1.7.5 RC1 version which is available on download page and is more recent to see if this fixes your problem but otherwise, you are probably out of luck with an incompatible controller.
