Sega CD Load Fails - Wii

Trying to load the USA version of Sonic CD fails on my Wii. It just goes to a black screen and freezes the Wii. I cannot get back into the menu and have to hard reboot the system. I have also just tried loading the Sega CD bios and that fails in the same way. Revision 6eb067b and earlier works fine for me.
The bios file I am using is us_scd1_9210.bin, renamed correctly, and placed in the bios folder on my SD card. The sonic cd bin and cue file is on my usb hard drive.
If any other info would help please let me know

I had already reverted to 6eb067b and everything works normally without chaining the 1.0 us bios file I have been using.
After backing up my working setup I upgraded again to rev d9e6b10. I tried the 1.0, 2.0, and 2.11 US bios files. All 3 black screen the same way and the wii-remote stops responding. I left the system on the black screen for a few minutes each time to see if it did anything but nothing happened. I had to power cycle the wii.

I have the same problem, tested with different bios and none works. Deleted my config.ini just to be sure and no dice. Some people are getting this issue and others can play CD games just fine, can't figure out where the problem is. The bios don't even boot when loaded as Genesis games. I'm using a Wii U btw.

That's weird.
Do you only have problems when loading Sega CD games, NOT with Genesis games ?
Are you using precompiled dol (genplus_wii.dol) or do you compile yourself from source ?
Are you also loading games from USB ? Have you tried if loading from SD fixes anything ?

This only happens with Sega CD games. Genesis and Master System work fine. I did not test SG-1000 or Game Gear.
I am using the precompiled dol's from bitbucket.
I have the bios files stored on SD and I am loading games from USB. I just tried moving sonic cd to my SD card and still get the same black screen when changing the load device to SD and loading the game from there.

Yeah, forgot to mention, it only happens with Sega CD games, Genesis games work fine. I also tried boot the bios itself as a Genesis rom, but still got black screen, with .md and .bin extensions for the bios.

Ok, I think I know what causes this and why it works for some people and not others. Can you test again but set VSYNC option to OFF in emulator video settings before loading a Sega CD game for the first time?

Yes, you should be able to re-enable VSYNC once at least one CD game has been loaded, it was only the first time a CD game is loaded with VSYNC enabled that this error occured.

Try using a different bios, that one might have been corrupted on your SD card. Does reverting now to using the 6eb067b dol solves back the loading issue? https://bitbucket.org/eke/genesis-plus-gx/raw/6eb067b41d30795dcd524a03f8912e5b32ec6769/builds/genplus_wii.dol
I did not tested the last builds on my Wii since those changes were fairly simple and worked fine with my win32 SDL test build but I don't see how those two last code commits could cause any black screen on load or Wii freezing, it's seems more like an hardware issue or maybe a compilation issue.
