Sonic 3 crackling in sound

What steps will reproduce the problem? Play the first level with water en plateformer drop or in the introduction when lot of sound are played at the same time

What is the expected output? What do you see instead? You hear crackling the sound

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? 2008.08.26

Please provide any additional information below. I tried with Gens and MAME FM Core, with MAME there are a lot more crackling sound.

1/ what is the exact configuration in your sound options 2/ give more details where the crackling sound exactly appears 3/ is it random or constant and always at the same place/event ?
