Show number of raw reads used in assembly table
Issue #335
new
Request for enhancement: Show read count as another column, perhaps under “Assembly Stats”, or as part of “Data Source”
Use case: Checking sample name and raw data matched correctly, since raw read counts usually enough to distinguish multiple FASTQ files in a collection.
As an aside on #333 “Other people's date with our "lab contact" information?” I mentioned I was looking for a missing strain out of nearly 500 that I had uploaded. I now know what happened: Two samples accidentally had been given the same sample name.
If the interface reported the read count, I would be able to see which of the two FASTQ pairs was used (or if both were combined - which seems unlikely as the reported coverage is normal).

I couldn’t work out which set of reads had been used, so deleted the problematic entry - and then tried to upload the two entries with disambiguated names.
This was harder than in should have been as one set of reads was rejected as already being associated with the (deleted) assembly.
