can't search for very short gene names in biogrid

e.g. the fly gene H or h

if you try to use them in the interactive search it says it's a bad request with a 400 error code and warns you about same origin policy stuff, but if you copy the request into a url it returns an error in json saying you can't search for a query that short

we should catch their warning response and display it. Could have a list of these impossible names and convert them to ids internally to use for querying?
