The list of commits should be cleared before reload

When you change "Show merge commits" option then nothing happens for 3 seconds now, which frustrates user. It is better to clear commits list to let user know that the list is reloading. Maybe it is also better to reduce the number of commits from 10000 to 5000 to fasten reload. I suppose that 5000 will still be enough.
