Shared memory maps

Are there any plans to implement SHMMAP? I realize that usually one should use COMMON, but sometimes SHMMAP is better. I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement, and even if it's easy I'm not sure it's worth the trouble given how likely infrequently it is used in IDL, but if it's relatively simple enough would you be able to? Thanks!
