validator on subtask not working

i have set up a validation that a story can only have a certain status (workflow step) if there is at least one subtask with the status 'in progress'. it works for new stories i create but not for existing stories, where i am still asked to move a task to 'in progress' even though there is already one with that status.

it is blocking us from moving existing stories into IN DEV

Hi Anonymous and Ibascle,

It's very strange, and I'm afraid I don't understand fully your problem. By the way, reindexing has nothing to do with this issue, it only has effect of what JIRA filters show

I need more information on the bug, in order to be able to reproduce it. Can you please attach a screenshot of your transition's configuration (only validators tab is needed). A screenshot of your workflow (or the zone around the status you want to forbid with the validator) might also be helpful.

In a video conference with Ibascle, I could see the problem, but I haven't been able to reproduce it locally. It seems to be a very particular case, and since it has ceased to be problem once the affected issues have been closed, I will close the issue. In case somebody detects a similar problem, please don't hesitate to reopen the issue.
