Can not clone the issue

Issue #135 resolved
Libor Tvrdík created an issue

We can not clone the issue if the JIRA Workflow Toolbox has {{Create Issue}} post-function. After clone the issue got error message: Error creating issue: Source GenericValue can not be null.

The problematic post-function is Issue will be assigned to user with fewer assigned issues with empty resolution, among those in project role ....

Create a new issue work fine. Only clone the issue is fail.

The Atlassian support confirm JSP-230128, that bug is in JIRA Workflow Toolbox plugin. Confirmed in JIRA versions: 6.3.8, 6.4.4

We are paying customers. It is possible to hide this report?

    Hi Libor,

Can you please attach a screenshot with post-function's tab of transition "Create Issue"? I need to see all the post-function being executed and its configuration?

    Thanks,

    Fidel

There is no workaround, but I can provide a quick beta version fixing the error. It's also possible to change option to default user by project role.

I need to see the screenshot of post-function's tabs, i.e., all the post-function executed in the transition.

I would also need to see the server's log. You can attach only the part with the error produced by the plugin, or if your prefer it, you can send the whole file to me by email, to support@workflowarts.com,

BTW, I don't have permission to see JSP-230128.

I'm trying to reproduce the problem with the information you have provided to me until the moment, but haven't succeed. I can clone issues and subtasks without any problem.

It's very important that you provide me:

    • Screenshot with post-function's tab of "Create Issue" transition, in order to see all the post-function being executed.
    • Server's log file, or the part of the file with the error produced by the plugin.

    Thanks,

    Fidel

Libor, I think I know what is happening:

Please, ensure that "Assign to Project Role" post-function is inserted AFTER "Creates the issue originally." system post-function.

    Hi Fidel,

You're faster than the wind :-). I prepared a simple workflow (see on Small JWT Clone Fail Workflow.zip), and I can see that unnecessarily. I confirm that the error is in the order of post-function. In my workflow is your function in the first place.

Because I can not move a step, "Creates the issue Originally". Re-opening the support request JSP-230128 to Atlassian, if it's not their fault.

    Thanks for your assistance.

    Cheers, Libor

Libor, you can move "Assign to Project Role" down, and the problem will be fixed.

Please, close the issue if you problem is solved.

    Thanks,

    Fidel

    Hi Fidel,

yes, bug is in order of post-function. When "Creates the issue Originally" (as you posted in comment #18502858) is first, clone function is fine.

    Cheers, Libor
