Inactive user is able to post comments

Issue #139 resolved
Virgil Cârcu created an issue

Hello,

I'm contacting you after I raised this issue at Atlassian Support and they informed me that you are the right person to check on this. Here is how the scenario looks like: - in our setup we have the following post functions: Copy a parsed text to a field to Ephemeral string 1 and then Add a comment using Ephemeral string 1 using Current user as author - we have a user (user1) that is allowed to perform this transition. Once done, the post function will post the comment with user1 as author. - we change the username of user1 to user1_inactive and deactivate the account. - we create a new user named user1. - we log in this newly created user (user1) and transition the issue - we find out that instead of posting the comment as user1, user1_inactive is the one posting the comment. - also, the public profile of user1_inactive shows that it has posted the comment. We have this issue in our current setup and this is causing a lot problems since the user is in position to use this function extensively.

We would highly appreciate if you could check this.

Best regards, Virgil

    Hi Virgil,

Can you please attach a screenshot of your transition configuration? Only post-function's tab is needed. I want to see the all the post-functions being executed in that transition and its configuration.

    Thanks,

    Fidel

    Two questions:

    1. Which version of JIRA are your using?
    2. Are your users JIRA internal directory users or external directory users?

Hi Virgil, I have found the problem and fixed it in version 2.1.33_beta_1. You can use this version in production environment since it only differs from version 2.1.32 in this issue fix.
