"Write field on linked issues or subtasks" no longer works

Hi Fidel, we use over 4 month the "Write field on linked issues or subtasks" functionality. Toolbox copy the last comment to a new comment in the linked issues (Service Desk) SD). It works fine.

Now, the toolbox closed correctly the linked issue via Transition ID, but the comments are not copied ?

I check it in different instances and different JIRA releases. Same behavior.

Update parameters of the Write field on linked issues or subtasks Function for this transition: Value of field Last comment in current issue will be copied to field New comment in linked issues or subtasks filtering by: Inward issue link types: is cloned by. Outward issue link types: clones. Subtasks fulfilling conditions on issue type, status and project will be written. Sibling subtasks fulfilling conditions on issue type, status and project will be written. Issue types: Request, Defect and Incident. Statuses: Closed and Resolved. Linked issues or subtasks may belong to any project. Linked issues or subtasks will be written recursively. This feature will be run as Current user.

Hi Andreas,

I'm not sure whether I have correctly understood the scenario:

Did the problem appear when you closed the issue previously to trying to insert the comment using "New comment" virtual field?

Can you please attach screenshots of configurations of transitions where you close linked issues and where you copy last comment to linked issues? Only post-function's tab is needed, since I want to see all the post-functions being executed in each transition and the order of execution.

Hi Andreas,

Try using "Transition's comment" (field code %{00127}) instead of "Last comment".

Other possible solution might be to move "Write field on linked issues or subtasks" post-function AFTER "Add a comment to an issue if one is entered during a transition." post-function.

Anyway, I advice you to use the first solution.

Hi Andreas, just released version 2.1.33 fixes a bug in "Transition's comment" virtual field. Please, try this new version, and let me know it it solves this issue.

Sorry, Andreas, I confused "Transition's attachments" with "Transition's comment". The bug fixed in version 2.1.33 affected to "Transition's attachments".

Hi Fidel, 1: Write field on linked issues or subtasks" no longer works it works with the last change from "Last comment" to "Transition's comment " with the OLD Version. With the version 2.1.33 it works both. By the way I copy now the attachments and it works to. thanks for support, andreas
