Set a field as a function of other fields Hangs In Browser - when try to add as a post function the browser start to refresh but hangs and never returns. It appears that all other post functions work.

    Hi Robert,

    • Which version of JIRA are you using?
    • Can you confirm that you are using JIRA Workflow Toolbox 2.1.32?
    • Does the problem also occurs when editing an existing "Set field as a function of other fields" post-function?
    • Does the browser show javascript errors?

    I haven't succeeded to reproduce the problem with JIRA 6.4.8, JIRA Workflow Toolbox 2.1.32, and Chrome, Firefox and Safari. It works perfectly with all the browsers.

    • No errors in the logs or in the browser
    • All other Transitions appear to work just this one seems to be an issue either creating or if it is existing in a workflow same when trying to edit.

    I'm about to release version 2.1.33. Can you please try the most recent beta version to check whether the problem also happens with the new version?

    If it keeps happening, may we have a screen share by Skype in an hour approximately? My Skype user is fidel100r.

    It looks like it did finally come up - it was slow but at least I can get to the transitions where as the prior version nothing ever came back

    Can you please try "Copy a parsed text to a field", "Create issue links", "Write field on issues returned by JQL query" post-functions, and "Boolean validator with math, date-time or text-string terms" validator?

    This happens in both the .32 release and the beta release

    Can you please try versions 2.1.31, 2.1.30 and 2.1.29?

    Please, begin by 2.1.31 and stop as soon as you find that a version is working correctly, i.e., it returns immediately.

    Sorry, for the annoyance, but I don't have other means to get information about the problem.

    I downgraded to version 2.1.31 and version 2.1.30

    • Create issue links - No Issues
    • Write field on issues returned by JQL query - No Issue
    • Boolean validator with math, date-time or text-string term - No Issue
    • Set a field as a function of other fields - No Issues

    All of the above return right away

    Robert, some additional questions:

    • Can you try "Validation based on JQL query" validator?
    • Can you try "Add a comment" and "Log work" post-functions?
    • How many users do you have in your instance of JIRA, approximately?
    • Do you have any external directory to provide your JIRA users?

    I suspect it may have something to do with the parameter "Run as" introduced in version 2.1.32.

    • "Validation based on JQL query" - works fine on the back rev versions
    • "Add a comment" and "Log work" - works fine on the back rev versions
    • We use service Desk so we have about 125 JIRA Users and thousands of Agents coming in via the Service Desk Portal
    • We use Crowd that syncs with Active Directory to allow users and Agents access to JIRA and Confluence

    Thanks for the information, Robert. Can you please try version 2.1.33_beta_14? I expect that the problem has been solved after redesigning the logic around parameter "Run as".

    Installed 2.1.33_beta_14 and tested the following Post Functions:

    • Copy a parsed text to a field - No Issue
    • Create issue links - No Issue
    • Write field on issues returned by JQL query - No Issue
    • Boolean validator with math, date-time or text-string term - No Issue
    • Set a field as a function of other fields - No Issues
    • Log Work - No Issue
    • Add A Comment - No Issue
    • Validation based on JQuery - No Issue

    All appear to be working and return rather quickly
