Issue navigator error after selecting issue's url (The jira server could not be contacted. This may be a temporary glitch)
Below you will find a overview of the issue opened at Atlassian's Support (JSP-177495): In issue navigator, nobody has access to the issue ESC03-97 (see the attachment). When the issue's url is selected an error message is raised after a while : <The JIRA server could not be contacted. This may be a temporary glitch or the server may be down>. Today four issues are affected and we can't progress on these topics.
After investigations, Atlassian concluded that the issue is caused by the plugin JIRA Workflow Toolbox (v2.1.10). In Safe Mode when the plugin is disabled, I have access to the issue ESC03-97 and then I enable the plugin again I have no access.
So how can I solve the issue?
Thank you.
Didier

repo owner Hi Didier,
First of all, please, try to reinstall version 2.1.8 of JIRA Workflow Toolbox, in order to find out if the problem is due to last version of the plugin.
In order to reproduce your problem or find the cause, I need to know the version of JIRA you are working with, and also the server's log output associated with the failure. I suppose you provided it to Atlassian.
I don't have access to issue JSP-177495 due to permissions in Atlassian's support system. If you could send me a PDF print of that issue, it might help a lot.
Regards,
Fidel

reporter Hi fidel,
The problem happened when version 2.1.8 was installed. I install version 2.1.10, hopping that it solve the problem. How to reinstall version 2.1.8 with Atlassian Universal Plugin Manager?
Enclosed, you will find JSP-177495 in pdf, server's log and XML backup (JSP-177495_20131114_temporaryGlitch_anon_xml).
I think there is not many things in logs. I'm not sure that the error was caught. Currently, we are working with JIRA 5.2.8. I hope that the given information will help you in your investigations.
Regards,
Didier.

repo owner To reinstall version 2.1.8 you have to download JAR file of version 2.1.8, uninstall JIRA 2.1.10 from your JIRA, and upload 2.1.8 JAR file with UPM.
Can you please give me the keys of issues you are having problems with? I have found some errors in the log file and want to check if affected issues are the ones your having problems with.

reporter The key is ESC03-97. You can see it the attached screen capture (Capture-BUG_TemporaryGlitch01).

repo owner The problem seems to be caused by condition "Condition based on regular expression" in your workflow. Can you please attach a screenshot of the configuration of the transition where you are using this condition? Only condition tab is needed.
According to the comments in issue JSP-177495 you attained to solve the problem in issues ESC03-54, ESC03-32 and ESC07-04 by modifying the regular expression. Can you please tell me the change you made?
Can you please send me a PDF print of issues still unaccessible to fcarmario@gmail.com?

reporter The problem was the "Condition based on regular expression" as you thought. I deleted the condition, created it again and restarted JIRA. I think that when I copied/pasted the regular expression unwanted whitespace had been added.
Thank you for your help and your quick answers.
