Plugin license for JIRA workflow toolbox plugin

Issue #56 resolved

I am in the process of upgrading my JIRA 4.3.4 to 6.2.7. I have the following plugin installed on my current version 4.3.4. I understand that you support this plugin. My question is I currently see no license attached to this plugin, unless i am missing something. But in order to install it into my new 6.2.7 version we have to pay for it. Please advise why i did not need a license for this previously but now i need one, and if i purchase it do i need to purchase a new license every time i upgrade my JIRA?

    Hello Jim,

JIRA Workflow Toolbox became paid at version 2.0 (May 2012). If you are going to migrate to JIRA 6.2.7 you should use the most recent version of the plugin (2.1.19). You need to purchase a license for the plugin matching your JIRA license at Atlassian Marketplace.

The license you buy is perpetual. Your original purchase includes 12 months of maintenance. To continue receiving upgrades and support after the initial 12 months, you can renew your maintenance for 50% of the original purchase price. You can purchase maintenance for up to 36 additional months at any time.

You can also get 1 month trial licenses clicking on "Try it free". You can get more than one trial license if it takes you longer than 1 month to evaluate the plugin, but you should be careful to avoid trial license expiring in production environment, since the plugin will stop working.

If you are using any of the following features, you need to know that they have been removed from most recent versions of the plugin and replaced with new features:

    • "Inward links allowed condition" and "Outward links allowed condition" were removed at version 2.0.15 and replaced with "Condition on linked issues"
    • "Inward links allowed validator" and "Outward links allowed validator" were removed at version 2.0.15 and replaced with "Validation on linked issues"
    • "If it doesn't match regular expression" (condition) was removed at version 2.1 and replaced with "Condition based on regular expression"
    • "If it doesn't match regular expression" (validator) was removed at version 2.1 and replaced with "Validation based on regular expression"

In case you are using some of these features, you have to:

    1. Install the last version of the plugin containing the deprecated feature and the new one: 2.0.14 or 2.0.25 depending on the feature.

    2. Replace the usage of the deprecated features in your workflows by the new ones.

    3. Upgrade JIRA Workflow Toolbox to the most recent version available.

If you are using any of these features, please tell me which ones of them and I will give you more detailed instructions on how to migrate your workflows to the new version of the plugin.

Please, don't hesitate to ask me any other question you have?

    Regards,

    Fidel
