Referencing "Linked Issue Keys" in "Send an Email" returning nothing
I am using the "Send an Email" post function as part of my workflow to send out a custom email. One of the lines I am using in my Email Body (set to HTML) is:
This issue is linked to the following incident tickets (if applicable): %{00098}
with %{00098} being the field code for "Keys of Linked Issues"
Unfortunately, upon sending, it is not copying the issues linked issue keys.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Marc Watkins RightStar Systems

repo owner Hi Marc,
I have tested a configuration similar to yours on JIRA 7.3.6 with JIRA Workflow Toolbox 2.2.36, and it works correctly.
Are your issue links between different JIRA instances, or within the same JIRA instance?
Please, insert in your transition a "Copy a parsed text to a field" post-function with the following configuration:
- Target field: New comment
- Parsing mode: basic
- Text to be parsed:
Linked issues: %{00098}
A comment will automatically be created in your issue containing the issue keys of linked issues. Please, tell me whether it works as expected or not.

That works. I even tried using "Number of Linked Issues" and that also worked. Both show up in the emails generated by the new comments. They just for some reason are not showing up in the workflow custom emails.

Account Deactivated reporter Could it be that i am using a custom built link type?

repo owner Marc,
It should work with custom issue link types. Maybe there is some kind of interaction with a previous transition from another plugin.
Please, try moving the post-function to first position in execution order. For Create issue transition move it to second position in execution order, just after post-function "Create the issue originally.

Account Deactivated reporter Hi Fidel,
Position seems to have been the problem. It would work if put as the first post function but not work if it was lower down on the list.
Thanks for the help and a very useful plugin.
Marc

In case you are using the post-function in transition "Create Issue", please move it after post-function "Creates the issue originally". Otherwise, send me a screenshot of post-function's tab of the transition. I want to see all the post-functions you are executing.
