Installation error (Dolfin / FFC)

In OSX 10.8.4, I installed all the Dolfin dependencies. Running cmake leaves me with:

Exception: Unable to generate new DOLFIN wrappers, missing module dolfin_utils.wrappers.

This error comes from ffc/wrappers.py (line 44). But dolfin_utils is part of the Dolfin source tree, which in turn has FFC as a prerequisite. Are you supposed to python install that stuff before running cmake?
