Encoding PCM to AAC?
I've been importing some DV home movies from an old camcorder using Quicktime. The video is fine and in H.264, but the audio is PCM. I wanted to ask if we could get an option encode the PCM as AAC?
Maybe some kind of double drop-down on the import window to choose the mix and the quality? Maybe choose the default quality in Preferences?
Passthru isn't an option for PCM, and while it's easy to use another app to do just the audio and then remux, I enjoy going through Subler.

reporter This seems to randomly be an issue again. Upon recently opening files with PCM audio, Subler detects the audio stream as "unknown" in the import window. Although to preface, I haven't tested 1.4.1 on other PCM files to see if this is widespread, or unique to the files I'm currently working with.

repo owner Yes it's PCM, but it's stored in another way. Matroska has got at least three way to store things: the normal one, the avi compatibility mode one, and the quicktime compatibility mode. So much fun.

reporter Oh boy, I know how to fix this! A NEW standard! Standards

repo owner Eh, Matroska in kinda a "whatever works" standard. They are trying to define it better now…
anyway, should be fixed in this test build: https://subler.org/downloads/Subler-Test.zip
