It appears that requests to thetvdb.com for TV Show metadata are timing out ... nothing is being returned until one has hit "Search" multiple times (and it's not consistent).

Finding the information on the actual thetvdb.com site works as expected, just not Subler's access to the data.

I have exactly the same issue. I'm on macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Beta (16E175b).

thetvdb.com had some issues with https connection, should be fine now.

This is still not working for me. Sometimes works after multiple retries, sometimes does not.

iTunes has also been failing over the past week.
