iTunes store metatags get deleted upon save

Issue #324 resolved
Devon Hubbard created an issue

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open an new or existing MPEG-4 container file.
  2. Click on Search icon in upper right. (If you don't have toolbar showing, enable it in View menu).
  3. In search dialog sheet, click on 'TV Episodes' tab control
  4. In search fields, search for most any television show. For example, "Supernatural", season 11, episode 19.
  5. When found content appears in bottom of window, click the 'Add' button.
  6. Notice in the meta data tags added from the search the following tags: contentID, artistID, playtlistID.
  7. Select 'File > Save' to save the file.

Result:

Notice that after the save completes, the meta tags contentID, artistID, and playlistID are deleted from the meta data.

Expected result:

Found meta tags from added search results should stay in the file after a save. All metadata tags created and present at time of a save should be retained after a save.

Notes:

  • This occurs with Subler v1.2.5 and v1.2.8, on macOS 10.12 and 10.11.
  • Subler v1.1.8 showed contentID, artistID, playlistID in search results but did not add those tags to metadata for file; so there are no tags to attempt to save.
  • This does not occur with Subler v1.0.1, v1.0.8.
  • No other macOS versions tested yet.

    Oh man, you rock!
That fixed the problem. I restored defaults for TV shows and Movies and I am unable to recreate the problem with those metatags after pulling search results down from iTunes anymore. Thanks!
