Convert Audio

Issue #376 invalid

I was wondering if there is anyway to convert 6ch to 2ch? Or even create another sound track and make it 2ch or 6ch?

Also I was wondering if you would add the feature to save files as x265 mp4 files?

If you open a new window in Subler and drag the file containing your 6ch audio into the new window, the import dialog gives you the option to change the imported audio track to stereo (or another format). You can also repeat this method once more (and only selecting the audio stream) to add an additional audio stream with a different channel layout.

As for your second question, your files would need to already contain x265 streams. Subler doesn't encode your video to be able to change a file from x264 to x265. You'd need Handbrake for that.

Yeah could a new feature be added to Subler so it could convert form 264 to 265? Cause handbrake takes way to long. So if I had 264 file would really help me save space to convert to 265

It would take the same time as HandBrake to converto to h.265. And yes, you can covert 2ch to 6ch if you duplicate the same data, but it's useless, the result would be the same as the original audio.

Not only would it take the same time as Handbrake, but unlike audio, there are lots more variables when it comes encoding video. There isn't a simple "shrink my video file size " setting.

Also, if you don't have a processor that supports hardware encoding of H265 (Skylake, or Kaby Lake depending on the video), then it's going to take a long time no matter what, as it's a very CPU intensive process.

What settings in handbrake would work the best to keep the quality of the original video. I am new to this and don't want to ruin the quality.
