HVEC video file with 6 channels AAC audio don't play in quicktime or appleTV

Issue #428 duplicate

Hi, maybe it's just me, but when I try to process HVEC x265 files that now contains only 6 Channels AAC audio, the resulting file won't work on quicktime or Apple TV. It works on VLC 3 (previous versions of VLC showed the video but a clunky or blocky audio). Is it something about my source files, or something new with high Sierra?

I'm using a MacBook Pro 13.

are you sure it is 6 channel was it converted from TrueHd (7.1) if so it will have all 8 channels in AAC and thus AppleTV or QuickTime do not support that, but VLC does still play it.

I guess the 6 channels are the dolby 5.1 equivalent sound track, since are iTunes files. Anyway I think it was a problem with the source encoder, because right now they started to works fine again, with no changes on Subler. 😊
